THE ‘NEW’ CHILDREN OF IDLEB

WHAT CAN WE DO FOR THE ‘NEW’ CHILDREN OF IDLEB?

According to UNOCHA 137,070 people have been displaced from Afrin and 31,194 people have arrived in N.W.Syria from eastern Ghouta & Al-Qadam. More arrive almost every day.

There are already some one million IDPs in Idleb Province

More than 30,000 have arrived “to non-state armed groups” (NSAG) from eastern Ghouta and the surrounding area.

The entry points for Humanitarian Aid are near Killis (Bab as Salama) and near Reyhanli (Bab al Hawa)

All the resources of the humanitarian community are overstretched and further evacuations are expected. Additional resources are needed,

including those for children. Schools are being used to shelter IDPs. Temporary learning spaces are urgently needed.

Textbooks, Materials and Teachers are needed too.

A Village in Syria has been approached for help by a Syrian NGO. We have written a report – please email if you would like a copy: a villageinsyria@gmail.com. Watch this space.
