A STORY WE ARE FOLLOWING – THE UN SECURITY COUNCIL MANDATE FOR RESOLUTION 2165

Resolution 2165 (and others) enable Cross-Border Aid Humanitarian Aid into Syria. Most of the aid passes from Turkey, when gates are open it also passes from Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq

The Resolution has to be renewed each year. It is up for renewal on 20 December 2017. If the Mandate is vetoed, some 2.7 million Syrians – inside Syria – will lose Humanitarian Aid.

Humanitarian Aid to Yemen is also enabled by a Resolution at the Security Council – but a different Resolution.
